All About Aid

Today was all for Aid. It was so obvious that he really needed some special time.

So we took him to the Children's Museum. Grandma Mac came with and basically just held Grant unless he needed to be fed so that both me and Bob could run around with Aid and give him our undivided attention if only for a couple of hours. He was in heaven. We ran from room to room, crawled through tunnels (I have not been able to really play play with him for a few months now and it was so much fun for both of us), and splashed in the water. Sorry I did not bring my camera and although it bugs me I could not document the great time we had, it also allowed me to simply enjoy the moments instead of obsessing about capturing them on film.

Following that we were treated to dinner at Red Robin. He got a corn dog and milk shake and enjoyed cheese sticks, which in my opinion beat the hell out of any silly cheese curd (fried or not.)

Then I followed my friend Kelly's suggestion and incorporated Grant into Aid's bedtime routine. I laid Grant down and read a book to Aidee and then Bob took over and read some more so I could feed Grant. I got to stay in the room, and Aid went peacefully to sleep. And I didn't cry, missing being a part of it.

So we basically had family bedtime tonight. I know that it may not always work this seamlessly but for tonight we all felt a little better. Thanks for the idea Kelly!

I think I'm getting the hang of this....
