So basically I am a milk machine at the moment. Grant eats, poops, then sleeps. That's about it. Don't get me wrong he is absolutely darling doing all of those things but I do feel a bit like a milk factory.
Breastfeeding, however, has been going SO much better for me this time around. It's like Grant came out understanding the concept of eating. I never got it with Aid. I had to use nipple shields and breast pumps and it was just hard....all the way through. This has been a very different experience. I still look forward to the day where the schedule doesn't revolve around nursing, but I am sincerely enjoying it and understanding why so many women really do love it. It's incredibly nurturing and bonding and all the things I thought it was going to be the first time around.
Aid's role in all of this?? He loves to cuddle while I nurse Grant. He is very warm and affectionate and as long as I don't steal his pillow to prop Grant up he is more then fine with sharing mommy. He understands I am feeding Grant and is very helpful during the whole thing.
As Aid grows I am constantly reminded how much information he is taking in that I am not even aware of....He sees me put in breast pads and he thinks this is fabulous. He tries to wear them too and sticks them under his t-shirt and giggles like crazy when it falls out when he walks away with it.
It's so hilarious and so very Aiden.
LOL! I can just picture Aiden with his breast pads--that is hilarious!
